The Brookings Blizzard have beaten Aberdeen 5-1 Friday night at the odde Ice Center in Aberdeen. Thomas Williams led the way with a hat trick, scoring three of the team’s four goals in the second period. Eric Brenk gave the Blizzard a 1-0 lead in the final minute of the first period on wrist shot off the post from the high slot. Drew Wiegman picked up his fifth win of the season in net stopping 43 of 44 shots. Justin Moody opened the scoring in the second period on a beautiful one timer, his second goal in as many nights. Cody Marooney picked up two assists. Drew Brevig, Nick DeCenzo, Evan Hesse Seywah Kramarev and Jordan Stejskal each had one assist. The Blizzard outshot Aberdeen 46-44. Brookings (11-4) will host Bismarck Friday night and Minot Saturday night at the Larson Ice Center. On Friday the team will be hosting a post game autograph signing after the game. Saturday is Military Appreciation Night when current service men and women and veterans can get into the game for free and their families can get in for half price. The puck drops at 7pm each night.
