(FRISCO, TX) – The North American Hockey League (NAHL) today announced the Divisional Stars of the Week presented by Easton Hockey for the week ending January 18, 2015. The Easton Hockey Divisional Stars of the Week is a weekly feature during the 2014-15 regular season that honors the top performing players in each of the four NAHL divisions. Central Division Star of the Week: Nate Colwell, forward, Brookings Blizzard
Newly acquired forward Nate Colwell, 17, helped the Brookings Blizzard to a weekend home-and-home sweep of the Bismarck Bobcats. The native of Englewood, Colorado recorded four points (1 goal, 3 assists) in the two wins, which were the first back-to-back wins for the Blizzard since late October. On Friday, Colwell (6’2/180) had the game-winning goal and added an assist in a 6-2 road win in Bismarck. On Saturday, Colwell had two more assists, including one on the game-winning goal, in a 4-3 home win over the Bobcats. Colwell has played five games for the Blizzard since coming over from Corpus Christi and has six points in those five games played. “Nate is new to the team and he has come in and competed really hard. He makes us a better, deeper club and is a very good and young talent,” said Blizzard head coach Dan Daikawa.
