Brookings has beaten the Minot Minotauros 4-2 Friday night at the Larson Ice Center. Minot went up quickly just fifty five seconds into the game. Thomas Williams tied it up for Brookings six minutes later when he poked the puck free at his own blue line raced down the ice and beat Minot goalie Tyler Parks on the backhand for his third shorthanded goal against Minot. Minot scored on the power play later in the first for a 2-1 lead. Just like last Friday against Austin Drew Weigman and the Blizzard slammed the door shut after the first period. Brookings Drew Brevig scored late in the second, Brandon Parker got the game winner on a shot from the left point with five to play, and Craig Lindegard added an empty net shorty to seal the victory. Weigman picked up his 16th win in goal, and the Blizzard are now just one point out of second place. The two teams will play again Saturday night in Brookings. The puck drops at 7pm.
