Blizzard 2018 Main Camp kicked off on Thursday

NIAGARA FALLS, NY      Let the countdown to opening night begin.

The Brookings Blizzard kicked off their 2018 Main Camp in Niagara Falls, NY on Thursday afternoon. Main Camp will be the process in which 90-plus players from the around the world, including those who have been tendered for 2018-19, will look to earn a spot on the Training Camp roster.

“I’m very excited and looking forward to this main camp,” said Head Coach Moe Mantha.  “On paper we have a real good, competitive group of players coming in.”

Of the players coming into camp in New York are those who have been tendered for the 2018-19 season. To view the tendered list, click right here.

Mantha, his new assistant coach, Devin Mantha, and the rest of his hockey operations staff with converge at the end of the weekend to select the Training Camp roster.

“Our staff has done has had more time to do their homework on these players on their character, attitude  and hockey talent,” said Mantha. “We are expecting to have to make some tough decisions.”

Training Camp will be from Aug. 25-Sept. 1 at Larson Ice Center. On Aug. 25, members of the Blizzard will be out at Edgebrook Golf Course for the third annual Golf Scramble. You can sign up for the scramble right here.

The 2018-19 season will be begin on Sept. 28 when the Blizzard play host to the Minot Minotauros.
