MOE MANTHA JR – HEAD COACH & GM

Mantha comes to the Blizzard with a wealth of experience both playing and coaching throughout many levels of pro and amateur hockey. Mantha enjoyed a 12 year career in the NHL playing for the Winnipeg Jets, Edmonton Oilers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Philadelphia Flyers, and the Minnesota North Stars. Mantha was also a member of Team USA at the 1992 Olympics. He began his coaching career in 1994 with the Columbus Chill in the ECHL. From there he went on to coach the Cincinnati Might Ducks, affiliate of Anaheim in the AHL. After his time in pro minor league hockey, Mantha coached for 4 years in the NAHL with stints for the USNTDP in Ann Arbor and most recently with the Michigan Warriors. Mantha also coached in Canadian major junior hockey with the Windsor Spitfires, and the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL. Born outside of Cleveland in Lakewood, Ohio Mantha resides in Sturgeon Falls, Ontario with Kathy his wife of 35 years, and three children Ashley, Devin, and Brody.The B

DEVIN MANTHA – ASSISTANT COACH

Devin has joined the Blizzard Staff as the Assistant Coach for the upcoming season. Devin comes to the Blizzard with a wealth of experience, spending the past 5 years playing in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) and East Coast Hockey League (ECHL) and amassing a whopping 200 points. During his time in the SPHL, Devin earned a Community Service Award, spent three years in as a leader in the Mississippi Riverkings Organization, and tied two SPHL records (most points in a single game – 7; and most goals in a single game – 5). Prior to professional hockey, Devin attended the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire where they won a DIII National Championship (2013), and left with his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a minor in Leadership. Prior to Eau Claire, Devin attended the University of Miami – Ohio, where they clinched a CCHA regular season title and a Frozen Four spot in 2010.

ROB LIDDELL – GOALTENDER COACH

Rob Liddell, has been named as the Blizzard Goaltender Coach for the 2018-19 season. Liddell hails from the Detroit area, where he has recently been working with the Little Caesar AAA programs. Rob first attended college at Oakland University in Michigan, and then transferred to Eastern Michigan where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. Rob played club hockey for Oakland and Eastern Michigan, and now uses his teaching background with goalies at the amateur, college, and professional levels. Liddell is part owner of Goalie Coaches, which is an internet based company that provides coaching for goalies throughout the United States that don’t necessarily have a goalie coach dedicated to them. Liddell is excited to bring his experience and knowledge to Brookings where he wants to build a culture for goalies and establish Brookings as a prime goaltender destination. Liddell forms one on one relationships with his goaltenders, and it’s through that rapport that allows his students to receive the tools to help them reach their potential. Tyler Parsons is one of Liddell’s noted students. Parsons was the Gold Medal winning goaltender for the United States in the World Juniors two years ago. Parson’s was a 2nd round pick for the Calgary Flames in the 2016 NHL Draft, and is currently in the Flames farm system.

DAN GARNEAU – DIRECTOR OF PLAYER PERSONNEL

Dan Garneau is entering his first season with the Blizzard.  Dan has spent the past two seasons with North American Central Scouting as scout who helps rank players for the NHL Draft.  Garneau is a native of Medicine Hat, Alberta where he played his minor hockey.  Before North American Central Scouting Dan was a regional scout for the Quebec Remparts and the Chicoutimi Sagueneens of the Quebec Major Junior League.  Garneau also owns Elite Hockey Prep Camp which is based out of Toronto, Ontario.  Elite Hockey Prep Camp helps moves players on to all levels of hockey from AAA to professional levels.
