Ground Round Player Spotlight – Zed Dietrich

Blizzard Forward, #11 Zed Dietrich, was born to Jim and Karen Dietrich on January 17th, 1996.  He joins sister Rebekah and brothers Joziah & Izaiah.  He started playing playing hockey at the age of 5, and has had great success on the ice thus far in junior hockey.  Playing his high school hockey career at Waukesha South High School in Wisconsin, Zed has also seen time playing for Team Wisconsin U18 as well as the Michigan Warriors of the NAHL.

Zed's favorite part about Brookings would have to be the people, and some of his favorite hobbies are camping, fishing, and hanging out with his billets, Mike, Joy, & Jensi Jensen.  One fun fact about Zed is that his real name is Zedekiah.  His favorite hockey memory has to be placing 3rd at the National Tournament, and in school, his favorite movie is definitely D2: Mighty Ducks.

After junior hockey, Zed plans to attend college and play hockey while pursuing a degree in Actuarial Sciences. While Zed spends the last few games of the season sidelined due to a concussion, he still has nothing but positive support for his team.  Join Zed as he cheers on his teammates in the last home game of the 2014-15 Blizzard Season on Saturday, the 28th of March!
