Brookings Comeback Falls Short in Shootout

Feb 17 Brookings at Minnesota

Minnesota 5-4 SO

Brookings came back Saturday night in Cloquet with payback on their mind. Trailing 4-3 late in the third Josh Boyer tied the game in dramatic fashion forcing OT with less than a second on the clock after he knocked in a rebound off a shot from Brendan Aird. Although the Wilderness prevailed in a shootout for the second consecutive night, Brookings in a sense stole a road point with their comeback. Doug Larson scored two first period goals, his 14th and 15th of the season, including one on the power play. Parker Revering scored his 4th of the year late in the second. Brookings hosts the Wilderness Friday and Saturday night at the Larson Ice Center.
