Blizzard Sweep Bruins

October 28th Austin at Brookings

Brookings 4-2

The Blizzard entered Saturday night’s game one point out of first place, and looking to cap off the week with three wins against the Bruins. Austin jumped out ahead two minutes into the game, but the Blizzard responded one minute later when Vince Marino batted the puck out of mid-air from the side of the net. Josh Boyer picked up the assist. Brookings caught fire in the second scoring three goals for a 4-1 lead heading into the third. Cameron Teamor, Griff Sanom, and Connor Koviak all scored. Brookings held on during a raucous third period to complete the sweep. Zachary Borgiel stopped 30 of 31 before leaving the game for precautionary reasons. Ben Beck relieved Borgiel and saved 19 of 20 shots for the victory. Brookings is tied with Bismarck atop the Central four points ahead of 2nd place Aberdeen. The Blizzard travel to Coulee Region this weekend for games Friday and Saturday night at 7 pm.
