Blizzard punish Bruins

October 25th Brookings at Austin

Brookings 7-1

The Blizzard headed to Austin in hopes of snapping a three game losing streak. They came out and took it to the Austin Bruins opening up a 3-0 first period lead. Josh Boyer opened the scoring midway through the first with a shorthanded goal off a nice feed from Chase Brand. Andriy Denyskin added the other two goals to close out the first. Henry Enebek, in his first game back with the Blizzard, scored a minute into the second, and Denyskin capped off his hat trick four minutes later for a 5-0 Blizzard lead. Doug Larson scored a power play goal off a pretty passing play with Brand, and Connor Koviak, and Tyler Hinterser scored his 2nd of the season to make it 7-0. Austin got on the board later in the third, but it wasn’t close to enough as Ben Beck picked up his second victory with the team stopping 30 of 31 Bruins shots. Brookings is two points out of first place and host the Austin Bruins Friday and Saturday night at 7:05 at Larson Ice Center.
