Brookings entered the weekend two points out of first place behind Aberdeen and Austin. Aberdeen took a 1-0 lead seven minutes in, but Brookings came back to tie the game minutes later when Vince Marino knocked in a centering pass from Connor Koviak. Aberdeen scored late in the first and jumped out to 4-1 lead in the second before Dylan Schuett pulled the Blizzard to within two with his first goal in his first game with the Blizzard. Aberdeen went back up by three in the third, but Derek Hammer scored his 7th of the season to make it 5-3 late 3rd period. Aberdeen added an empty netter to seal the victory.
