Blizzard down Bruins

October 27th Austin at Brookings

Brookings 4-2

The Blizzard looked to make it two in a row against Austin on Friday night at the Larson Ice Center. Josh Boyer, like he did on Wednesday gave Brookings the lead, this time a minute into the second on the power play off a nice one-timer from Doug Larson. Austin tied the game with just under five to go in the second, but Jimmy Elser put the Blizzard back up by one with a huge goal in the final minute of the second period. Vince Marino set Elser up on a two on none breakaway opportunity and Elser capitalized. After a back and forth third period, Andrei Denyskin scored his 8th of the season on the power play to give the Blizzard a little insurance at 3-1, but Austin came right back to cut it to 3-2 with under 2 minutes to go. With the net empty, Josh Boyer set up Vince Marino who sealed the game with his 4th of the season. Ben Beck had another monster game in net stopping 31 of 33 for his 3rd win of the year. Brookings will go for three in a row against the Bruins this Saturday night at the Larson Ice Center. Puck drops at 7:05pm in a game sponsored by Prairie Graphics, the official merchandise provider of the Blizzard.
