Blizzard Complete Comeback against Austin

Dec 8th Austin at Brookings

Brookings 4-3

Brookings entered the weekend against Austin four points behind the red hot Bruins who were riding a 10 game unbeaten streak. The Bruins got off to a familiar start during this stretch jumping out to a 2-0 lead after twenty minutes of play. Brookings got on the board six minutes into the second on Cameron Teamor’s 5th of the season after redirecting a pass from Henry Enebak past Bruin goaltender Alex Schilling. Chase Brand tied the game at two minutes later on breakaway that placed under the bar on the backhand. Austin came right back with a power play goal to reclaim the lead, but Derek Hammer scored a power play goal for the Blizzard off a beautiful cross ice pass from Josh Boyer to tie the game at three heading into the third. Connor Koviak scored another power play goal for the Blizzard midway through, and the Blizzard held on for the victory. Ben Beck stopped 33 of 36 for the victory. Brookings is two points out of first place and will travel to Austin on Saturday. Puck drops at 7:05 watch the action and hockeytv.com and listen locally on the Hawk 107.1 FM
